Being a Hippie in 2016

((Minus the weedz))
You listen to alternative music such as
Grimes, Glass Animals, Chet Faker, or Vance Joy.(Some of which I’ll probably blog about later)

OR you listen to oldies like The Doors, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin.

You dress like a hippie. You let your hair down, you get dreads, you wear flowey clothes, tie dye tee’s, or crocheted crop tops and flip flops.

Incense is your go-to air freshener and makes your house 10x more home-y.

You wish you had gone to Woodstock 69′, to the point where you got Woodstock 69 posters and tee’ s.

You buy locally. And you check labels on your favorite products to see if they are 100% organic.

You let your hair grow out. Yes. All over. I know crazy? (Also women dying their armpit hair is totally a thing.)

You speak out against things in society you arnt happy about. Hippies in the 60’s and 70’s protested against the Vietnam war. Modern day hippies speak out against social injustice.

You consider buying a hippy van. (Or already have) And you’ve already thought of the design scheme and colors you’re using for the exterior.

You go hiking//camping alot. On your own with limited supplies for the fun of it.

You attend festivals like Coachella and Burning Man. Or alternatively events like Renaissance Festival.

Most importantly out of all of these, I want to encourage you to just BE YOURSELF. If being a modern day hippy just isn’t for you don’t do it. Anyway I hope someone relates to this post, like myself~~
